Write On, Vancouver 2008
Write On, Vancouver is over for another year and we’re happy to report it was another success! With 63 paid registrants this year, we were able to offer a comfortable, relaxed event in the same line as previous year.
Friday night sessions on pitching with Eileen Cook, and branding with Theresa Meyers, got the conference off to a wonderful start, which led nicely into Saturday’s busy schedule. Appointments with Kathryn Lye (Harlequin/Silhouette) and John Scognamiglio (Kensington) were full, with several registrants receiving requests to submit more of their work. NYTimes bestselling author Lisa Jackson, Penguin author Michael Slade, and Peter Ditchfield from the Justice Institute of BC all spoke on the various aspects of writing romantic suspense, how the male mind views romance, and how to differentiate between real policing and the Hollywood version of it.
The Inn at Westminster Quay was the perfect place for the conference, Chapters/Indigo set up a sales table, and prizes were being handed out left, right and centre.
We have compiled a complete list of volunteers and donors and would like to thank each and every one of them for volunteering their time or donating goodies and prizes to Write On Vancouver. Thank you, everyone!
